TELL CITY – A man who allegedly stole $500 last month from a bill changer at ThyssenKrupp Waupaca was jailed Monday on a felony charge of theft.

According to Indiana State Police Detective Christopher Cecil, Canteen Service Co. of Owensboro, Ky., reported the loss of approximately $500 from a bill changer located at the foundry. Cecil alleged John Laforce, 40, a former employee of the company, instructed a second suspect to falsely report an open door to the bill changer. When Canteen Service Co. dispatched Laforce to open the bill-changer door, he allegedly stole the money. Laforce was arrested in Tell City and lodged in the Perry County Jail.
