TELL CITY—Erika Hauenstein and Amanda Wagner each won two individual events and two relays as Tell City beat Southridge 106-74 in girls swimming Thursday.

Hauenstein won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:29.30 and the 500 freestyle in 5:49.90.

Wagner won the 50 free in 25.64 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.94, just 20-hundredths of a second off her personal best set in last year’s sectional.

Those two teamed with Chelsea and Bailey Malone to win the 200 medley relay in 2:01.47.

Wagner, Chelsea Malone, C.J. Fentress and Hauenstein won the 200 free relay in 1:49.20.

Chelsea Malone also won the 100 backstroke in 1:07.04 and placed second in the 50 free in 26.37.

Tell City sophomore Hana Reed won the diving with 189.70 points.

C.J. Fentress placed second in the 100 free in 1:00.66 and the 200 free in 2:15.14.

Bailey Malone placed second in the 200 IM in 2:32.81 and third in the 100 butterfly in 1:11.49.

Jessica Ballman placed third in the 100 free in 1:05.80 and the 100 back n 1:17.06.

Alyson Goffinet took third in the 200 free in 2:15.14.

Despite the Marksmen’s 32-point victory, Tell City Coach Mike Page said he still expects Southridge to battle Tell City for the PAC title.

“They’ll be tough,” said Page. “Our B relays scored in all three events (Thursday) and there won’t be any B relays there.

“And I think they had a couple of kids out sick. They only had one girl diving and I believe they normally have two.”

Tell City, 5-2 in dual meets and 8-6 overall, is off until Jan. 7.
