Harpenau leads PC girls to second place

REO—Hannah Harpenau won two events as Perry Central finished second in a four-team girls track meet Wednesday.
Forest Park won with 113 points. Perry Central scored 86.5, Tecumseh 23.5, and South Spencer 13.
Harpenau won the 100-meter intermediate hurdles in 16.70 seconds and the long jump at 15 feet, 7 inches.
Amber Lindauer ran the 300 low hurdles in 50.33 and Marie Schwartz ran the 800 in 2:38.56 for the Commo-dores’ other victories.
Sarah Schlachter, Sarah Spires, Harpenau and Taysia Fulkerson took second in the 400 relay in 53.33.
Verna Schwartz, Rosa Schwartz, Jill Theis and Marie Schwartz placed second in the 3200 relay in 10:52.
Lindauer, Verna Schwartz, Schlachter and Allison Parker placed second in the 1600 relay in 4:23.
Jordan Sprinkle placed second in both throwing events, tossing the shot 30 feet, 5 inches and the discus 96 feet, 5 inches.
Harpenau was second to Lindauer in the 300 hurdles in 53.04 and Theis took second in the 1600 run in 6:21.
Allison Parker edged teammate Skylar Parker for second place in the 400 1:05.3 to 1:05.6.
Perry Central, 19-7, will compete in the PLAC meet at Mitchell Friday at 5 p.m.
