Cannelton police chief hires officer to replace Humphrey
CANNELTON - Cannelton residents will have to live with a large billboard at one of the entrances to their city, new Mayor Smokey Graves said at the first meeting of the city's board of public works and safety Monday.
"The sign is huge," he said in describing a 32-foot billboard to be erected behind the "Welcome to Cannelton" sign along Indiana 66 on the north side of the city. The state highway department issued a permit to Lamar Outdoor Advertising, based in Baton Rouge, La., the mayor said.
