CAMPBELLSBURG—Ashley Graves had 29 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots as Perry Central pounded West Washington 68-36 in PLAC girls basketball Monday.
Graves hit 11 of 13 shots from the field, including 1 of 1 from three-point range, and 6 of 7 free throws.
She scored 10 points in each the second and third quarters as the Commodores outscored the Senators 34-13 those periods to put the game away.
“Besides her, we didn’t shoot the ball very well,” said Perry Central Coach Bill Dickerson.
The Commodores hit 42.0 percent from the field overall.
Dickerson said they played good man-to-man, half-court defense, though.
“I thought we did a pretty good job on West Washington’s shooters. They’ve got some guards who can shoot the ball.”
Guard Carrie Miller led the Senators with 13 points, including two three-point baskets.
Brittany Parker scored 12 points for Perry Central to back Graves. She also grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists.
Rosa Schwartz made five steals and Hannah Edwards added four.
Perry Central improved to 5-2 overall, 2-0 in the PLAC. West Washington fell to 2-3 overall, 0-2 in the conference.
Perry Central will host Tecumseh tonight at 7:30.
