TELL CITY - Employees of the Tell City Wastewater Department and members of the community's board of public works and safety encourage residents to take steps that will prevent grass clippings from entering the city's storm-water system.
Clippings blown into streets, left near curbs and even blown onto sidewalks are frequently washed into storm drains when it rains, potentially clogging inlets and creating other problems for the storm-water utility. Blowing clippings into streets also violates city ordinances. City leaders appreciate the public's cooperation.
