Grandview Fall Fest Sept. 14-15

GRANDVIEW – The annual Grandview Fall Festival will be held Sept. 14 – 15 through out the town.
The fest will kick off with the fall fest pageant at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Grandview CIvic Center. Categories are Junior Miss, 9 to 12 years old; Teen Miss, 13 to 15 years old and Miss, 16 to 18 years old. For more information, contact Lisa Oliver at (812) 686-7500.
Pageants for the little ones will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 with categories for 0 to 12 months, 13 to 24 months, 25 to 35 months, the prince and princess contest for 3 to 5 year olds and Little Miss and Mister for 6 to 8 year olds.
Entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. Friday with The Midway, followed by Daniel Epperson from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Food stands will also be open Friday for visitors to grab something to eat.
Saturday will be packed with food, games, activities and more. The line-up for the festival parade will begin at 9 a.m. with the parade kicking off at 10 a.m. Participants with the best dressed-up golf cart or utility terrain vehicle will win the best-decorated contest.
Chicken and pork-chop dinners as well as the “famous” Grandview chicken and dumplings will be sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with carry-outs available. Barbecued chicken and pork-chop dinners will be offered from 4 to 7 p.m.
A cruise in is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a flag rededication by Rolling Thunder. From noon to 1 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the Grandview Masonic Lodge 191, visitors can enjoy a BMX bike show and have a chance to win one of two bikes. Children and their parents can enjoy a magician show from 4 to 5 p.m.
Leo Gronquist Band will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. and Leo Gronquist will return to the stage from 9 to 10 p.m.
Other evening activities will include the Evansville Fire Family from 8 to 9 p.m. and a cake wheel at 9 p.m. Kids games, bingo, bouncing balloons, novelty and flea market booths, crafts, pick-a-prize auction, quilt and food basket raffles, a barrel train ride and more will also be offered during the festival.
To close out the weekend, visitors are invited back to Grandview for a Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at the boat ramp.
