TELL CITY – Lauren Goffinet, a 2009 graduate of Tell City High School, was named to the president’s and dean’s lists of Kentucky Wesleyan College for the spring 2012 semester.
The president’s list honors superior academic achievement, and students must attain a 4.0 grade-point average while being enrolled as a full-time student. The dean’s list recognizes students who attain a GPA of at least 3.5. Goffinet has been named to the president’s list five times and the dean’s list six times.
At Kentucky Wesleyan’s Honors Convocation held shortly before the conclusion of the spring semester, Goffinet received the Teacher Education Award for social studies and the Andrew Young Memorial History Award. She has been elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in recognition of outstanding merit and accomplishment as a student at Kentucky Wesleyan, and she was nominated for the Oak and Ivy Award, which is conferred upon students who exhibit spiritual leadership and intellectual ability in seeking to promote the interests and welfare of Kentucky Wesleyan.
Goffinet is a starting guard on the women’s basketball team and has earned for the third time Academic All Great Lakes Valley Conference Honors. She will be a senior this fall majoring in social studies-secondary education. Goffinet is the daughter of Chris and Darla Goffinet and granddaughter of Bill and Dolores Goffinet and Larry and Floretta Beatty, all of Tell City.
