OWENSBORO, Ky. — Tell City graduate Lauren Goffinet was named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Academic Team for the 2012-13 year, the fourth year in a row that she made it.

Goffinet, a May graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College where she starred in women’s basketball, was one of a record 53 Wesleyan student-athletes to earn the honor this year.

She was one of only two to do so for the fourth time, joining volleyball player Sarah Pedigo from Trimble County, Ky.

Goffinet was also one of three Kentucky Wesleyan student-athletes who received the Great Lakes Valley Council of Presidents’ Academic Excellence Award.

The recipients must have exhausted their eligibility in the intercollegiate sport in which they participated and maintained at a least a 3.5 grade-point average throughout their academic career.

They also must have competed in the GLVC a minimum of two years and completed 96 credit hours. A student-athlete can only earn the honor one time.

Besides Goffinet, Panther honorees were women’s cross country runner Brittany Clark from Philpot, Ky., and golfer Bailey Wilson from Sellersburg.
