TELL CITY – Legislation under consideration in the state General Assembly last week will cost local units of government statewide $1 billion if enacted.
That’s according to Bill Goffinet, former Tell City mayor and now serving as a field services manager for the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. He was speaking Tuesday after a regular meeting of the Perry County Port Authority Board of Directors, and said the cost of Senate Bill 1 will be implemented incrementally.
