Girls sectional drawings made

INDIANAPOLIS—Perry Central will get a rematch with Forest Park, and Tell City and Cannelton will likely face stat-ranked teams in their first IHSAA girls basketball sectional games next week.
Pairings for the 64 sectionals were drawn by the IHSAA Sunday.
The seven-team Class 2A sectional at Forest Park will start Tuesday with Mater Dei, the defending state champion and ranked No. 1 again this year, taking on 1-19 South Spencer.
Tell City drew the first-round bye and will face the winner of that game in the semifinals 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8.
In the other bracket 12-6 Southridge will face 13-8 North Posey 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, followed by 11-9 Perry Central versus 9-9 Forest Park at approximately 7:15 p.m.
That night’s winners will meet in the second semifinal game Feb. 8 at approximately 7:15 p.m.
The championship game will be 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.
Cannelton will play in a four-team Class A sectional at Tecumseh Feb. 8-9.
The Bulldogs will meet Northeast Dubois, 17-2 and ranked No. 5 in the Class A state poll, in the second game Friday, Feb. 8, at approximately 7:45 p.m.
Tecumseh will play Wood Memorial in the first game that night at 6.
The championship game will be 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.
