Employees of Hedinger Roofing of Jasper lower the county-courthouse cupola to the sidewalk in front of the building Saturday morning as County Commissioner Bill Amos (right) watches. The workers removed the structure during the weekend to avoid interrupting pedestrian traffic in and out of the building. They’re replacing shingles installed when the courthouse was built with metal roofing originally intended to cover the structure. (A photo-and-video presentation of the cupola work appears in the multimedia area of this site.)
