Former Marine files for county commissioner

PERRY COUNTY - Brent Herzog feels he could do more as a county commissioner than by simply complaining about issues, the Democrat said Friday in explaining why he filed for the county's District 1 seat Tuesday.

A former Marine and current resident of 1728 12t St., Tell City, he said he learned a lot about leadership through his time in the military and in scouting, where he earned Eagle Scout status.

"The growth of the county is important to everybody's future," he said of issues facing the county. "Our children are the ones we should be concerned about."
