Forest Park outruns TC, PC girls

TELL CITY - Forest Park won 12 of 15 events to dominate a girls triangular track meet with Tell City and Perry Central Thursday.

Forest Park scored 77, Tell City 42, and Perry Central 37.

The Perry County teams' only victories came in the field events, as Tell City's Dana Sibrel won both throwing events and Perry Central's Amanda Allen took the high jump.

Sibrel threw the discus 116 feet, 2 inches, a personal record, and the shot put 34 feet, 8 inches for her victories.

Allen cleared 5 feet to take the high jump.

Tell City swept the top three places in the discus and took first and second in the shot put. Julie Davis placed second in both with throws of 108 feet, 21?2 inches and 33 feet, 11?2 inches, respectively.

Elizabeth Kohnert, Tiffany Davis, Sidney Strobel and Marianne Krueger each placed second in one event for the Marksmen.

Perry Central's Jessica Huber placed second in both hurdles races.

Dana Cronin in the long jump and Tessa Lynch in the 800 were Perry Central's other second-place finishers.

Perry Central ran without star distance runner Rachael Rayford, who has a premature stress fracture in her foot and will probably be sidelined the rest of the season.
