FERDINAND—Ericka Lange pitched a four-hitter as Forest Park defeated Perry Central 4-1 in girls softball Monday.
Lange struck out four and walked one. Three of her strikeouts came on called third strikes.
“We just watched too many strikes go by,” said Perry Central Coach Mark Rothgerber. “She wasn’t an overpowering pitcher, but we didn’t hit the ball hard at all.”
Morgan Richardson hit a double for Perry Central’s only extra-base hit.
Lexi Aders scored the Commodores’ only run in the sixth inning. She led off with a single, advanced to third base on two ground outs, and scored on a throwing error.
Perry Central, 4-3, will host Southridge today at 5 p.m.
