TELL CITY - Everyone loves a circus and for the second time in three years, the Kelly Miller Circus is coming to Tell City.
Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 137 is sponsoring Saturday's circus. Two shows are planned, at 2 and 5:30 p.m., on city-owned lots near the intersection of Seventh and Humboldt streets.
The public is invited to watch animals being unloaded and fed Saturday morning, with activities beginning at 7:30 a.m. Elephants will raise the big top around 9. Guides will be furnished for anyone who wants to watch.
The Kelly Miller Circus was founded during the Great Depression and is marking its 71st year. The traditional tented circus includes elephants, horses and a cast of international circus stars. Funds raised will support local FOP members' activities in the community.
Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children 12 and younger and free for children younger than 2. Tickets are available at Circle S locations in Tell City, Tom's Circle S in Cannelton and Michael's Mart on Indiana 37. They are also available at Shur-Way Pro Towing in Tell City.
Tickets at the door are $14 for adults, $7 for children 12 and younger and free for children younger than 2.
