TROY – Area residents are invited to participate in the Financial Peace University to learn how to plan and budget their finances.
Through video teaching by Dave Ramsey and class discussions, FPU presents practical steps to get participants from where they are to where they want to be with their money.
According to organizers, this plan will show how to get rid of debt, manage money, spend and save wisely and much more.
The average family who goes through the program pays off $5,300 in debt and saves $2,7000 in the first 90 days, organizers said.
FPU is a ministry of the Troy United Methodist Church and is in its 10th year. The program is directed by Pastor Bill Reid who is a trained FPU coordinator.
The full nine-week lesson plan can be viewed by going to Dave Ramsey’s Web site and clicking on Financial Peace University.
Classes will begin Sept. 25 at the Troy United Methodist Church, at the corners of Spring and Walnut streets in Troy. Participants will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
To register or to inquire further, contact Reid at (812) 608-2130 or send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a cost for a packet of class material. Payment can be set up over the nine weeks.
