TELL CITY - The advisory board for Perry County's Even Start program includes representatives from a broad array of educational and social-services agencies. A meeting of that board Tuesday revealed the value it brings to the community as resources elsewhere decline or disappear.
The Even Start program is one of six remaining in the state and has been funded for another four years, Director Darryl Irvin said in opening the meeting in a William Tell Elementary School conference room.
"There were 24 (Even Start programs) when we started."
