CHICAGO - Perry County chain-saw artisan Jason Emmons will participate in this weekend's fifth annual Echo Chain Saw Carving Championship in Albuquerque, N.M.
Emmons is a full-time carver based at Bear Hollow Woodcarvers in St. Croix. He has participated in events across the United States. He joined other carvers this month at Bear Hollow's annual fall festival.
He will be joined by teammates Mike Bihlmaier, Mark Colp and Bob King, who have appeared as members of Echo's national carving team since 2005, when the company first formed the team.
The company started the Echo Carving Series and championship the same year.
King has won the championship three years in a row. Colp has competed in all four prior championships, while Bihlmaier has competed in two championships and Emmons one.
