Baker named to EKU dean’s list
RICHMOND, Ky. – Jamie Lea Baker of Tell City is one of 2,901 Eastern Kentucky University students who earned Dean’s List honors for the fall 2012 semester.
She is a junior athletic training major at EKU.
To achieve dean’s list honors at Eastern, students attempting 14 or more credit hours must earn a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0. Students attempting 13 credit hours must earn a 3.65 GPA, and students attempting 12 credit hours must earn a 3.75 GPA.
Eastern Kentucky University is a comprehensive university serving approximately 16,000 students on its Richmond campus, at its educational centers in Corbin, Danville, Manchester, Somerset and Lancaster, and throughout Kentucky.

USI releases fall 2012 honors list
EVANSVILLE – In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, the University of Southern Indiana has released its honors list for the 2012 fall semester. Dr. Ronald Rochon, provost, reported 2,170 undergraduates were named to the list.
Students must achieve a 3.5 or better grade-point average on a 4.0 system to be named to the honors list. Local students are as follows: Brianna Crockett, Jessica Foster, Megan Hedinger, Tiffany Sabelhaus and Colton Schum of Bristow; Jaci Garrett, Megan Lawalin, Elizabeth Miller, Nakaa Myers and Sarah Powers of Cannelton; Natalie Biever, Kyla Fella, Tosha Mosby and Teri Rothgerber of Evanston; Emily Tempel of St. Croix; Megan Lindauer of St. Meinrad; Mariah Alvey, Andi Baur, Hannah DuPont, Jordan Gould, Brittney Harth, Jannelle Howell, Emily James, Samantha McCollom, Crystal Peter, Ian Reed, Kaylyn Richard, Spencer Sandage and Jessica Smulick of Tell City; Alyson Wright of Tobinsport, and Sloan Harpenau and Olivia Kleeman of Troy.

WKU admissions counselor to visit local high schools
TELL CITY – John-Mark Francis, an admissions counselor at Western Kentucky University, will visit local high schools to discuss with prospective students the opportunities offered at WKU.
Francis will be at the Tell City Junior-Senior High School from 1 to 1:30 p.m. March 14.

Health fair at TCJSHS Friday

TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host a school-wide, community health fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the school’s auxiliary gym.
The community is invited to attend. There will be a variety of activities for everyone to participate in.

Renaissance yard sale March 9
TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School Renaissance yard sale will be held from 6 a.m. until noon March 9 in the Bryan Taylor Sports Arena.  
The public can enter through Gate 3. All proceeds will go toward student recognition for academics, attendance and citizenship. In addition, for the first time ever, the group will also hold a bake sale.
