Easter egg hunts and family activities set for Saturday

TELL CITY – Several events are planned for Perry County families throughout the community Saturday. For holy week and Easter church services and activities, see page 5B, Church News.

• Oakwood Health Campus will host an Easter egg hunt. Ages birth to 3 will begin at 9:15 a.m.; ages 4 to 6 will begin at 9:30 a.m. and ages 7 to 10 will begin at 9:45 a.m. Contact Jennifer Coyle at 547- 2333 for more information.

• Cannelton American Legion Post 142 will host an Easter-egg hunt rain or shine, at the Legion ball field in Cannelton. The event is open to the public. Carnival games and concessions will be available beginning at noon and the egg hunt will begin at 1 p.m.  Age categories are birth to age 2; ages 3 and 4; ages 5 to 7 and ages 8 to 10. Prizes, candy and a top prize of a bicycle or tricycle will be given away in each of the age categories. There will be a special appearance by the Easter bunny. • Orscheln Farm and Home Supply will host its annual Easter-egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny. Sign-up for the hunt will be at 1 p.m. and the hunt will start at 1:15 p.m. A donation of $1 will be asked per child. Pictures with the Easter bunny will follow the egg hunt for a donation of $3 per picture. Pictures will be mailed. All proceeds from the event will go to the Humane Society of Perry County. For more information, contact the store at 547-7444. The Humane Society will also accept donations of new or recycled plastic eggs to help with future hunts. Donated eggs may be dropped off at the Orscheln store. There will also be a small petting zoo that will feature small goats, a lamb and rabbits.
