LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Portland Christian dominated the rebounding and defeated Cannelton 47-43 in girls basketball Saturday.
The Bulldogs grabbed only 18 rebounds and committed 27 turnovers. They hit 32.1 percent (17 of 53) from the field.
They got off to a cold start, scoring only one point in the first 5:22 as they fell behind 8-1.
Still they rallied from a 12-point deficit to close the gap to two points in the final minute.
Nakaa Myers hit a 15-footer out front and Jaci Garrett hit 1 of 2 free throws to make the score 45-43 with 10.5 seconds left.
