Eagle-viewing event set for 11 a.m. Jan. 5

PATOKA – The 26th Annual Eagle Watch Special Event has been scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern standard time Jan. 5 at the Patoka Lake Visitor Center. 

Everyone is welcome to participate.

Experience the world of eagles in Indiana, organizres urge. Featured will be a resident bald eagle and other live raptors. Guest presenter Leslie Grow, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Hardy Lake interpretive naturalist, will share the life and story of these amazing raptors. Join Todd Eubank, Patoka Lake wildlife specialist and his team to travel by car caravan to hot spots for eagle viewing. Guest presenter Rex Watters, DNR wild-life specialist of Monroe Lake, will share his experiences during the 1980s Eagle Re-introduction Program and interesting information about eagles found in this part of the state. 

Pre-registration is required with a $5 per person program fee. Participants 5 years of age and younger can attend at no charge. Dress for the weather and don’t forget to bring binoculars, spotting scopes and cameras. Warm refreshments and snacks will be provided. Have your vehicles fueled for the car caravan.
