TELL CITY – Dunward Ruben Howe, 91, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 7, 1920, to the Elisha and Mary (Huff) Howe.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and was retired from the Tell City Street Department. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939.
He is survived by children Dunward A. Howe, Brenda Jacob and Wayne Howe, all of Tell City, Mary Kellems of Troy, Donna Gogel of St. Meinrad, Bill Howe of Owensboro, Ky., and Georgia Smith of Chrisney; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Hazel Marie (VanHoosier) Howe; grandchildren Pat Howe and Donnie Jacob; his sisters, Grace Hinton and Blanche Dixon and a brother, Herschel Howe.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Pastor Andy Payton will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 2939.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, (today) and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
