Doubles help Vikings defeat Perry Central

POSEYVILLE—North Posey hit six doubles and scored in every inning of an 11-2 baseball win over Perry Central Saturday.
The Vikings outhit Perry Central 12-4 and also took advantage of seven errors by the Commodores.
Bryce Ridener pitched the first 4 1⁄3 innings for Perry Central, striking out four and walking five.
Payton Thompson pitched the last 1 2⁄3 innings, walking one and striking out none.
“I thought Bryce threw a good game,” said Perry Central Coach Phil Zellers. “He just couldn’t get the defense to play behind him.
“This was a game I thought we should have been in.”
Rosendo Gonzalez gave Perry Central a brief 1-0 lead with a solo home run over the left-field fence in the top of the first inning.
Payton Thompson drove in the Commodores’ other run with a double in the second inning. Alton Cummings also hit a double for the Commodores.
Perry Central, 1-3, will host Crawford County for a PLAC game today at 4:30 p.m.
