Donations support breast-cancer fight

-A A +A

During October 2013, many businesses on Main Street in Tell City collected money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The idea of collecting money to benefit breast-cancer patients was proposed by Skinsations. Several businesses collected money during the entire month of October. Some businesses used the money to purchase an assortment of wigs and hats, while others collected the money so wigs, hats and other items could be purchased for local cancer and chemotherapy patients. What an awesome act of kindness!

Thank you for those who donated to such a worthy cause. The items are appreciated more than one could realize. Having a nice wig and a warm hat is appreciated by patients taking chemotherapy treatments. It was wonderful to keep the funds raised by local businesses to help members of the community during their battles with cancer.

Hats off to area businesses who participated!
