Dog Dayz of Summer at Patoka July 20

BIRDSEYE – The public is invited to bring their canine companions for a day of events beginning at 10 a.m. July 20 at Patoka Lake.
Events will include Hike with Your Hound, dog training sessions hosted by a master certified dog trainers, a “tasty treats” program teaching participants how to make dog treats and more. There will also be a splash park, a pet parade, costume contest and a talent show with prizes. Face painting and crafts will be available for children. The Orange County Humane Society will also be on site with some of their pets looking for forever homes.
All pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. This event is free to the public, but donations would be appreciated.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
10 to 10:30 a.m. – Training session 1
10:30 to 11:15 a.m. – Hike with your Hound
15-minute intermission
11:30 a.m. to noon – Training session 2
Noon to 12:30 p.m. – Tasty treats how-to programs and samples
12:30 to 1 p.m. – Training session 3
15-minute intermission
1:15 to 2 p.m. – Pet parade and canine costume contest, talent show

The entrance fee of $5 per vehicle is required for the Newton Stewart State Recreation area, Patoka Reservoir, located north of Wickliffe Indiana, Highway 164.
