TELL CITY – The Daughters of Isabella Nativity Circle 710 will hold an open meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 5 in St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall in Tell City. This meeting will provide information to any Catholic woman 16 years old and older who might be interested in joining their organization.
The namesake of the organization, Queen Isabella of Portugal, was instrumental in bringing unity to the Catholic Church and peace and harmony to her country. Because of her deep belief in God, she provided the necessary aid to Christopher Columbus for him to set sail in 1492. Following his discovery of America, she sent him back on several voyages to spread the gospel.
It was in Queen Isabella’s name that the Catholic faith was brought to America by Columbus and as a result, the Catholic faith is popular in America today.
Being a member of the Daughters of Isabella means having a soaring spirit of faith, hope and love of God and a commitment to country and its people.
The group gathers each month with the exception of July and August to determine ways to give their time in works of unity, friendship and charity.
The Daughters of Isabella will begin the open meeting with a meal prepared by members of the circle. Reservations would be appreciated but are not necessary in order to plan for those at-tending. Those without reservations will be welcomed the night of the meeting.
