ROME – Gov. Mitch Daniels and Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman will be in Rome today to meet with former Gov. Ed Whitcomb. They are scheduled to announce the sale of land owned by Whitcomb to the state as part of Indiana’s Bicentennial Nature Trust project.
A public announcement is planned for 11 a.m. in front of the former courthouse in Rome. The trust is a partnership among the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation, Indiana Heritage Trust, Bicentennial Commission and local communities to create permanent gifts of public lands to Indiana.
