Dale’s second car show set for April 15

DALE – The second annual Dale Car Show will be held April 15 in Dale Town Park, located at the corner of Medcalf and Wallace streets.
Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. and cost is $10 per vehicle. Judging will begin at noon with awards presented at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top 30 vehicles with three special awards, and to the top five bikes. Dash plaques, door prizes and goody bags will also be available. Those attending will also be able to play various games throughout the day.
Vendor spaces are available for $25 or $10 for nonprofit organizations. Proceeds go toward improvements of Dale Park and Re-creation properties. The Park Department welcomes all classic, coupes, cruisers and motorcycles to this family-friendly event.

This weekend of family entertainment also includes a two-day arts and craft show at the Dale Community Center, just one block north of the car show at the corner of East Hammond and North Wallace streets.
Among the many artisans, Chainsaw Willie Loper will be featured giving chainsaw-carving demonstrations.
A display of antique sewing machines will be on hand, as well as several craft demonstrations presented throughout both days of the show, April 14 and 15. Hours of the show are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Spaces are going quickly, however artisans and crafters interested in renting spaces for this show should contact Cheryl Hurst at (812) 489-0239. Cost is $40 for a 10-foot by 10-foot space for the two-day show. Tables are available to rent for $5 each.
Breakfast, lunch, hot and cold drinks and snacks will be sold onsite at both the car and craft shows.
Seven churches for Sunday services and several local restaurants are located within a two-mile radius. No alcohol will be allowed on property.
To reach the car show, take Interstate 64 to exit 57-A and travel two miles south into Dale to Medcalf Street.
