CVS to acquire Werner Drug Store

Business’ roots go back to 1934

TELL CITY – In 1934, a local couple, Charles and Louise Werner , decided to take their shot at the American dream by starting Werner Drug Store on Main Street in Tell City. Eighty-three years later, the dream they started and passed down to three other Tell City couples comes to an end.

CVS Pharmacy has announced it will acquire the landmark local retailer at the end of business, Monday, March 13. Brad and Lynne Harth, owners of Werner Drug Store since 1987 will be the last independent owners of the store.
