Criss inducted as member of SAR

PERRY COUNTY – Wesley Criss became a member of the Ohio Valley Sons of the American Revolution March 2. During the banquet, Criss also received the Sons of the American Revolution War Service Medal."

He served in Afghanistan from July 2008, to July 2009. He received the U.S. Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service and Commitment to Excellence with four distinct achievements listed, plus his commanding officer’s hand-written comments that accompanied his commendation. He is the son of Molly Hall and Robert Criss.
The Sons of the American Revolution War Service Medal was first authorized in 1899 for SAR members who had served in the war with Spain. Subsequent specific SAR War Service Medals were authorized for World War I and II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom.
