Court denies lower bail for King

Child-molesting suspect remains in county jail

TELL CITY - County Magistrate Karen Werner turned down Friday a bail-reduction request sought by a Tell City man charged with three counts of child molesting.

Jason King, 1148 Ninth St., petitioned the court to reduce his $60,000 cash-only bail. King was arrested after he turned himself in at the Perry County Family and Social Services Administration Office last month.

Police launched a criminal investigation after a girl's mother accused King of inappropriately touching the child.
