County property owners receive $537,072 in rebate checks

TELL CITY - County Auditor Connie Berger has released details about the recent distribution of tax rebates mailed to property owners this month. County property owners received $537,072.19 in rebates, which were intended to provide short-term relief for increases in property taxes. Because of the shift to trending, a process that more closely ties values to market conditions, many Hoosiers saw their tax bills increase and state legislators approved the rebates last year.
