Account allows county to retain excess COIT, EDIT money
TELL CITY - Perry County Council members adopted at a regular meeting Thursday an ordinance establishing a "rainy-day fund" where unused and unencumbered funds may be banked.
"Funds raised by a general or special tax levy on taxable property within the county" may be deposited into the fund, the ordinance states, "whenever the purpose of such tax levy has been fulfilled and an unused and unencumbered balance remains."
