County council funds jail medical services

Issue returns to board of commissioners today

TELL CITY - Perry County Council members voted in a special meeting Thursday to fund jail-prisoner medical services provided by Peoria, Ill.-based Advanced Correctional Healthcare.

As The News reported Dec. 31, the company offered to take on duties performed the last several years by local physician Dr. Will Marcrum. In response to a call for 2008 bids, Marcrum reluctantly offered to continue providing services at three times the $1,000-per-month cost he previously charged.
