A Sept. 18 News report incorrectly stated a bid for ammunition from E&E Guns and Sporting Goods of Tell City was approximately 2 cents per round higher than that of a Hawesville, Ky., store. The E&E bid was actually lower, owner Gary Esarey pointed out.
Cannelton Police Chief Kenny Kellems, who was making the purchase from a county law-enforcement fund not supported by taxes, said Monday he'd already made the purchase from Hawesville's Ace's Sporting Goods based on a determination by county attorney Chris Goffinet that the Ace's bid was lower.
