Contractor killed in fall at Waupaca

Investigation will focus on why 45-year-old was not wearing safety device

TELL CITY – The investigation into the workplace death Saturday of an Owensboro, Ky., man at Waupaca Foundry will likely focus on why the 45-year-old victim was not wearing a safety device. 

Both the foundry and the contractor Bobby Felty was working for said he had been provided safety training at the plant.

Perry County Coroner Charlie Baumeister said Felty was pronounced dead at the scene. State police said he fell about 55 feet after decking he was standing on collapsed.
