Continuing-ed classes offer winter diversion

LEOPOLD – Classes on topics as varied as yoga and Facebook will be offered this winter at Perry Central School  continuing by another year a tradition of continuing-education courses.

Offered each year starting in late January, this year’s schedule includes nine courses, including a social-media class meeting Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. There is also a craft course on stamping and one on hunter education. Wellness courses include a boot-camp exercise class, women’s volleyball, yoga, weight training, Zumba and self-defense.

“Our continuing education represents Perry Central’s efforts to reach out as a center for community activities,” said Dixie Dickerson, who coordinates the course offerings.

A schedule and description of classes can be found at the school’s website, www.pccs.k12.in.us.  Registration forms may be picked up in the elementary or high-school offices during the school day. A $20 registration fee helps cover costs for the courses, along with support from the Perry Central School Corp.

Fitness courses are funded through  a Welborn Baptist Foundation grant.
