TC wrestling club to sell dinners
TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School Wrestling Club will sell chicken and pork-chop dinners from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Zoercher-Bettinger Park on Watt Street in Tell City.
Meals will include chicken or pork chops, creek fries and slaw. Cost is $7 per meal.

Benefit poker run set for Saturday
PERRY COUNTY – A benefit ride and poker run for Ginny Dejarnet will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in Perry County.
Cost is $10 per hand and stops will be at Rocky Point, Derby, Betty Ray’s, The Dock, Bandon Tavern and end at Rocky Point. A 50-50 raffle will also be held.

Horseman Club sponsoring euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host euchre games October through early December. Events are planned for Saturday and Oct. 22, Nov. 5 and 19 and Dec. 3.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7. Rules will be announced before games. For more information, call 836-2127 or 836-2052.

Legion to offer dinners Saturday
TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion Post 213 will sell pork-chop dinners Saturday at the post home. Serving will start at 11:30 a.m. and meals will be dine in or carry out.
Menu will include pork chops, creek fries and green beans. Cost is $8.

Kickball tourney in Evanston Saturday
EVANSTON – The Evanston Civic Association will host a kickball tourney at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Civic Association.
Teams can include eight to 10 people and must be signed up by today. Entry fee is $150 per team. Free T-shirts will be handed out to all players.

Mass at St. Joe’s Cemetery
BRISTOW – The Rev. Guy Mansini OSB will hold an outdoor mass at St. Joe’s Cemetery at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
In case of rain, there will be the usual mass at 6 p.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Volleyball team to support breast cancer awareness
TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School girls volleyball teams will host “Volley for the Cure” at their home game against Paoli Thursday.
The first game will start at 5:30 p.m. Team members will wear pink jerseys and ask the community to also wear pink. Donations will be taken at the door for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Perry Central football families to gather
LEOPOLD – Perry Central football families will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Perry Central High School study hall.

TELL CITY – Cub Scout Pack 192 in Tell City is accepting new members. Boys in the first through fifth grades are eligible to sign up.

VNA Plus blood pressure, blood sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday and Oct. 18 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at Twilight Towers. For more information call VNA at 547-7967.

Euchre games Oct. 15 at Leopold
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host euchre games Oct. 15 at the clubhouse. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7.
Refreshments will be served.

New NA group meets Thursdays
TELL CITY – New Way to Live Narcotics Anonymous meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Thursdays at 319 11th St., in Tell City. Sessions will be open-discussion smoking meetings.

Conservation Club to meet
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the clubhouse.
Members are encouraged to attend. To become a member, call Susie James at 843-5974.
The meeting is held the first Monday of every month, unless a holiday falls on the date. In that case, the meeting is held the first Tuesday.

Haunted trail coming
CANNELTON – The Bloody Ridge Haunted Trail will begin Oct. 14 and run every Friday and Saturday til the end of October. The trail will also be open Oct. 30.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. each night and admission is $5. Costumes will be optional. The trail is sponsored by Rolling Thunder Indiana Chapter 7 and Buddy’s Tire Shop.
The trail will be held near Buddy’s Tire Shop, 6032 Scotch Pine Road outside of Cannelton. Look for signs.

Military support group to meet
FERDINAND – The Blue Star Military Support Group, started by the Blue Star Mothers, will meet the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at American Legion Post 124 in Ferdinand.
The next meeting will be held Oct. 18. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Hoosier Days in Sebring
SEBRING, Fla. – The annual Hoosier Days in Sebring has been scheduled for Feb. 4, 2012, at Homer’s Buffet at the corner of Highway 27 and Sebring Parkway across from Wal-Mart.
Sign in is at 11 a.m. and the meal will be at noon.

Open enrollment for Medicare
INDIANAPOLIS – Medicare beneficiaries will need to make decisions earlier this year about their health and prescription plans for 2012.
Cheryl St. Clair, program director for the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, says the enrollment period is Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
