Mu Gamma gathering today
TELL CITY – Mu Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Hostesses will be Sondra Vanconia, Shelda Schmidt and Susan Harpenau.

Library invites trick-or-treaters for Halloween
TELL CITY – The Tell City-Perry County Public Library invites ghosts and ghouls in preschool through high school to trick-or-treat at the library from 5 to 8 p.m. Halloween.
Library staff members will give away free books, bookmarks and mood pencils while supplies last.

Euchre games in Fulda Saturday
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday at the club in Fulda. 
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. The tourney will consist of six 20-minute games with prizes to be awarded at the end of play. Refreshments will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.

Leopold to host Saturday euchre tournament
LEOPOLD – A euchre tournament will be held Saturday at the Leopold Conservation Club.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7.
The public is invited to attend.

TCFD to sell chicken dinners Sunday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Fire Department will sell barbecued-chicken dinners Sunday at the fire department at 12th and Mozart streets.
Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m. and cost is $7 per plate. Menu includes half a barbecued chicken, creek fried potatoes and green beans.

IHRS to host fundraiser Saturday
TELL CITY – Indiana Horse Rescue South will hold a Feed the Horses fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Orscheln’s Farm and Home Supply in Tell City.
Rescue horses will be present, along with Jeff Varner and his mule team. The Dairy Barn in Troy will also be at the event with treats and IHRS will sell chili, hot dogs and chips. There will also be different activities for children to interact with the horses.
The fundraiser is to help encourage the community to help by buying a bag of grain to help feed the horses during the winter months.

Troy FD kids party Sunday, soup sale Nov. 6
TROY – The Troy Fire Department plans to host the annual Troy Halloween party Sunday.
Children can gather at the Troy Firehouse at 4 p.m. for costume judging, games, treats and hayrides.
The department’s annual fall soup sale will be Nov. 6 at the Troy Firehouse.
Serving will begin at 11 a.m. Those purchasing soup are asked to take gallon containers.

PC football families set meeting
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will gather at 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Perry Central High School study hall. For more information, contact Donna Shaw at 836-2927

Local business to host winter coat drive
TELL CITY – Glenn’s Cleaning Service in Tell City will hold a winter coat drive from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15. The business will accept donations of gently used coats, winter hats, gloves and scarves of all sizes.
Glenn’s Cleaning Service will clean and distribute the items to those in need. Drop off bins will be located at 907 Jefferson St., in Tell City.

Relay for Life soup supper
ST. MEINRAD – Relay for Life Team Happy from St. Meinrad and St. Boniface Catholic churches will have a soup supper fundraiser Nov. 5 at St. Boniface Parish Hall.
Serving will start at 6 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Relay for Life of Spencer County.

VNA Plus blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings in Tell City. Screenings are scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Twilight Towers and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 1 and Nov. 15 at Wal-Mart. For more information, call VNA at 547-7967.

Conservation Club to meet
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the clubhouse.
Members are encouraged to attend. To become a member, call Susie James at 843-5974.
The meeting is held the first Monday of every month, unless a holiday falls on the date. In that case, the meeting is held the first Tuesday.

Humane Society meeting, elections
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 8 at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.
Election of officers will also be held. For more information, contact Jim Carter at 836-4138.
The Humane Society will also give away free straw for doghouses Nov. 12 at Orcheln’s Farm and Home Supply Store in Tell City.
