Optimists reschedule chili dinner
TELL CITY – Due to the weather, the Tell City Optimist club cancelled its chili dinner Jan. 22. They have rescheduled the meal for Saturday, Feb. 5 at Tell City Junior-Senior High School.
Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and the menu will include chili, hot dog or peanut butter sandwich, dessert, and drink.
Cost is $7.

Horseman’s club euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host euchre games Saturday at the clubhouse on Summer Road, just north of Tell City.
The event is open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. with games starting at 7 p.m. Hot dogs, chili, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be served.
The clubhouse is a nonsmoking facility.

Conservation Club euchre tourney Feb. 12
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host a euchre tourney Feb. 12 at the clubhouse. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available. There will be no smoking during the tourneys.
Cost is $5.

VNA Plus to offer blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings at Twilight Towers in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday and Feb. 15 at Wal-Mart in Tell City and from 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at Twilight Towers. For more information call VNA at 547-7967.

Blood donation opportunity Friday
TELL CITY – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.
All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supple for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds and are generally in good health may be eligible to donate

Small animal clinic Saturday
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home and the County Wide Animal Clinic will sponsor a small animal vet clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb 5.
Orscheln’s will also sponsor a gift basket raffle during the event. One ticket is $1 and six cost $5 with all the proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Perry County.

Breakfast fundraiser set for Saturday
TELL CITY – A breakfast fundraiser will be held in the Twilight Towers dining room, 1648 10th St., Tell City, starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.
The public is invited.
The menu will include biscuits and gravy, coffee cake, coffee, milk and orange juice. Half orders of biscuits will be $1 and a full order will be $2. Coffee cake will be sold at 50 cents per slice and coffee, milk and orange juice will be 50 cents each.

St. Augustine Sweetest Gift meal set for Feb. 12
LEOPOLD – St. Augustine Parish Council invites parishion-ers, former parishioners and family and friends of St. Augustine parish to attend a “Sweetest Gift” meal at 5 p.m. Feb. 12 and 11:45 a.m. Feb. 13.
Dinner will be provided and those wishing to may bring a des-sert. Entertainment will also be provided.

Band to play at Legion
TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion will host a band at the post March 5. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call the legion at 547-8201.

Boys and Girls Club collecting cars
PERRY COUNTY – Many Boys and Girls Clubs are currently running car campaigns.
Donated cars are sold at auction and the funds generated help support the clubs’ many programs.

PC Florida reunion
VENICE, Fla. – The Perry County Reunion will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Marco Polo Restaurant, located at the North 41 bypass in Venice.
This reunion is held every year on the third Thursday of February. The group visits, performs music and enjoys seeing friends from home. The attendance is approximately 60 people.

Snowbirds to meet in February
SEBRING, Fla. – An annual gathering of local residents who flock to Florida for the winter months will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at Homer’s Restaurant in Sebring, Fla.
The group will meet for lunch and fellowship. Drawings will be made for prizes.
As in the past, attendees will pay at the door, be directed to the correct room and a collection will be made for the waitress’ tip. No reservations are required.
