Perry Central NHS bake sale Saturday
TELL CITY – The Perry Central Chapter of National Honor Society will host a bake sale at Wal-Mart in Tell City from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
All proceeds will benefit the efforts of the NHS.

Rummage sale Friday, Saturday
NEW BOSTON – St. John Catholic Church’s Ladies Sodality will sponsor a rummage sale at the parish hall from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Food and drinks will be available. Everyone is welcome.

After-prom committee to meet
CANNELTON – The Cannelton High School After-Prom Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the family room of Lawson's Bar & Grill. All parents and guardians of junior and senior students are urged to attend in order to finalize plans. Parents and guardians of sophomore students are also welcome. Beard Cemetery trustee sought
BRISTOW – Anyone eligible to serve and willing to be a trustee for the Beard Cemetery is asked to submit their name and eligibility by April 15.

D of I card party set
TELL CITY – The Daughters of Isabella will host their annual card party at 7 p.m. April 12 in the St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall.
Snacks and drinks will be served. Door prizes will be drawn at the end of the evening. Nonmembers are invited to join the party.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.

Spring into Cooking classes Tuesdays
TELL CITY – The Perry County Convention and Visitors Bureau will host “Spring into Cooking” classes for the public.
Classes will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesdays until April 19 at the Schergens Center in Tell City and cost $7 per person.
Classes scheduled are as follows:
Tuesday – Jim Weeks, grilling
April 19 – Donna Adams, pairing foods with wine

Conservation Club euchre tourney Saturday
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday at the clubhouse.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available. There will be no smoking during the tourneys.
Cost is $5.

Nursing home to honor volunteers today
TELL CITY – Golden Living Center–Lincoln Hills will host a volunteer recognition today. The event will start with a program at 2 p.m. honoring volunteers.
Refreshments will be served afterward. The public is invited to attend.

Alphi Phi chapter gathering today
TELL CITY – The Alpha Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma will meet at 6 p.m. today at Bill & Dave’s Smokin’ Pit. Don Etienne will be the guest speaker. There will be a book ex-change.
Hostesses are Susan Newkirk, Maria Sweat and Mary Jane Beckort.
Delta Kappa Gamma is an honorary society of women educators. Alpha Phi Chapter serves Perry and Spencer Counties.

Special needs group to meet Monday
TELL CITY – The Tri County Special Needs Support Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City in Conference Room C.

Lunch and Learn at Oakwood Health Campus Wednesday
TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will host a Lunch and Learn at noon April 13.
The event will feature Dr. Dennis Beck, orthopedic surgeon with Orthopedic Associates in Evansville.
Beck will speak on the coordination of care between personal-care physicians and specialists.
The public is invited to attend. Lunch will be provided at no charge.

Parks and rec meeting, dedication ceremony
CANNELTON – The Perry County Parks and Recreation Board will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Courthouse Annex in Cannelton.
A dedication ceremony has also been scheduled for the new park in Rome.
The community is invited to attend the ceremony April 17 at 1 p.m. at the park.

Farm Bureau meeting April 14 at bureau office
TELL CITY – The Perry County Farm Bureau Inc., will hold its annual policy development meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 14in the Perry County Farm Bureau Board Room at the Indiana Farm Bureau office, located at 8645 State Road 37 in Tell City.
All voting members are invited to attend.

Cannelton After-Prom Committee fundraiser
CANNELTON – The Cannelton After-Prom Committee will hold a chicken dinner sale April 16 at the Cannelton American Legion.
The $7 dinners will include a half chicken, green beans and creek fries. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Contact the Legion at 547-7049 or Lisa Havener at 608-0863. All proceeds will go to the Cannelton After-Prom.

CPR, first aid at the library April 16
TELL CITY – The Red Cross will hold a CPR-first aid class at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 16.

Sportsman to host euchre event
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney April 16 at the club in Fulda. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7.
There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end. Re-freshments will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.

VNA Plus to offer blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. April 19 at Wal-Mart in Tell City and from 9 to 10 a.m. April 26 at Twilight Towers. For more information call VNA at 547-7967.

Social Security rep to visit April 13
TELL CITY – A representative from the Social Security office will visit Tell City during April, May and June.
The first meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon at City Hall Wednesday.
The representative will answer questions and address any concerns.

Trap shoot in Branchville April 17
BRANCHVILLE – The Branchville Conservation Club will host a trap shoot April 17 at the club.
The event starts at 2 p.m. and the community is encouraged to attend.

Talk to a Lawyer program announces new numbers
EVANSVILLE – Talk To A Lawyer, the monthly telephone program where individuals can call and ask general legal questions and receive answers from lawyers for free, has new telephone numbers.
Effective today, the telephone numbers will be (812) 618-4845 and toll free (888) 594-3449.
The old telephone numbers are no longer effective. These telephone numbers are accessible only on the first Thursday of the month, such as today, between 4:30 and 7 p.m.
Talk to a Lawyer is co-sponsored by the Evansville Bar Foundation and the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Southwestern Indiana, Inc.
It has been a continuing program since 2002.

Humane Society meeting April 12
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will take place at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.

TELL CITY – The Hoosier Heights Country Club in Tell City will hold a euchre tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Another tourney will be held at the American Legion Post 213 in Tell City at 7 p.m. April 14. The public is invited to attend.
