Bicentennial meeting planned for Tuesday

TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will host another planning meeting for the county’s bicentennial celebration at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the chamber conference room. All are welcome to attend.

Parks and Rec meeting Wednesday

CANNELTON – The Perry County Parks and Recreation board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the courthouse annex in Cannelton.

Mu Gamma chapter to meet Thursday
TELL CITY – Mu Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.
Hostesses for the meeting will be Tina Zigelgruber, Vicki Whitehead, Leann Riley and Rosie Bowling.

Cannelton Legion Auxiliary meetings

CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Auxiliary meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Legion post home.
All members are encouraged to attend and anyone interested in joining is welcome.

St. Paul’s beer, brats, burgers and band event

TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will sponsor an outdoor party from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday in the church parking lot.
The local band Above the Law will perform. The event is open to the public. There is no admission but donations will be accepted to help pay expenses. Beer, soft drinks, water, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, brats and chips will be available for purchase. Attendees must be 21 to enter.

Haunted walking tour, novice hunt
CANNELTON – Tell City Ghost Hunters will present the second annual Historic Haunted Walking Tour and Novice Hunt Saturday during their annual Heritage Fest in Cannelton.
The group will offer two walking tours from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 to 10 p.m. tickets are $10 per person or $15 per couple.
The novice hunt will be held at the Perry County Museum from 10:15 p.m. to 2 a.m. There is a limit of 10 Tickets for the event and cost is $20 each.

Kickball tournament benefit Saturday
CANNELTON – The Perry County Museum will host a kickball tournament fundraiser Saturday at Legion Field in Cannelton.
Teams will need to consist of at least nine players and registration cost is $50 per team. Times of matches have yet to be determined and will depend on the number of teams competing.

Gatchel area yard sales Saturday
GATCHEL – Residents in the Gatchel area of Perry County will hold community yard sales from 7 to 5 p.m. Saturday. The coverage area is from Old Highway 37 just north of the airport to the Old Highway 37, Indiana 37 and Indiana 70 intersection. Check the News’ classifieds for specific yard sale ads.

GOPerry Club breakfast Oct. 19
TELL CITY – The GOPerry Club will sponsor a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at Ponderosa in Tell City.
Perry County Sheriff Lee Chestnut, Cannelton Police Chief Lee Hall and Tell City Police Chief Greg Hendershot will be the guest speakers. Everyone is welcome to attend. The club will continue monthly presenters by local groups throughout the year, except in December.

Horseman’s club euchre games continue Oct. 19

PERRY COUNTY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host its annual fall euchre games Oct. 19, Nov. 2, Nov. 16 and Nov. 30. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door and 25 cents per euchre game.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, coffee, sodas and water will be available. No smoking will be permitted in the building. For more information, contact Becky at 836-2127 or 719-7944. On game nights, call 836-2052 after 5 p.m.

Arts, crafts bazaar Oct. 19
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars 2939 Ladies Auxiliary will host an arts and crafts vendors bazaar Oct. 19 at 301 Main St., Tell City.
Tables may be reserved for $15 by calling Kim at 719-8255. The public is invited to attend and see homemade, antique and new vendor items.

Euchre tourney in Fulda Oct. 19

FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney at the club in Fulda Oct. 19.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the end of play and refreshments will be available. The public is invited to attend.

D of I gathering items for adoption center

TELL CITY – The Daughters of Isabella are again collecting baby items or slightly used clothing for St. Elizabeth-Coleman Adoption Center in Indianapolis.
This year, members are asking for baby clothing or items to be used for infants. They ask that gifts not be wrapped but have a price on each one. Boxes and baskets will be located at the three parishes – St. Paul, St. Michael and St. Pius – until Oct. 20.
The items will then be taken to the center in Indianapolis.
