Youth Refuge Harvest Festival
CANNELTON – The Youth Refuge will host a harvest festival from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the community room at Cannelton Cotton Mill Apartments.
Those attending are asked to use the west entrance on Adams Street.
Children in third grade and up are welcome to attend.

Euchre Saturday in Leopold
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host a euchre tournament Saturday at the clubhouse.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7.

Barbecued-chicken dinners Sunday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Fire Department will sell barbecued-chicken dinners Sunday at 12th and Mozart streets in Tell City.
Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m. and cost is $7 per plate.
The menu will include a half of barbecued chicken, creek fried potatoes and green beans.

Legion chicken-dinner sale Sunday
TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion Post 213 will sell two-piece chicken dinners with two sides Sunday at the post home.
Cost of the meals is $4.95 each and dinners will be sold from noon to 6 p.m.

Perry County AA dinner rescheduled
TELL CITY – The Perry County AA dinner meeting originally scheduled for Oct. 20 has been moved to Saturday.
The dinner will be held at First United Methodist Church at 10th and Mozart streets in Tell City. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will start at 6.
A guest speaker will begin at 7 p.m. Those attending may take a friend and are asked to take a covered dish.

Tractor association meeting planned
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Branchville Conservation Club.

Republican headquarters office hours
TELL CITY – The Republican headquarters in Tell City will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 4 to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday every week until after the election.
Anyone with questions about the election, voting, etc. is invited to stop in.

Euchre at Sportsman Saturday
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday at the club in Fulda. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m.
Six 20-minute games will be held with cash prizes awarded. Refreshments will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment any Saturday of the month by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only two appointments per person per month are allowed.
Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.

Perry County Coon Club shooting match
TELL CITY – The Perry County Coon Club will host its annual fall shooting match Sunday at the coon club.
The ham shoot will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the closed match starts at 2:30 p.m. Shoots will be for hams, pork and beef with first choice a half of beef.

Cookbooks to raise money for Alzheimer’s
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin have about 45 cookbooks left to sell to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
The price of the books has been reduced to $6 each or two for $10 in an effort to sell the remaining books. All proceeds go to the association.

Crafts-vendors bazaar at VFW
TELL CITY – The Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will host a fall crafts-vendors bazaar from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.
Tables are available for vendors for $10 each.
The VFW will also serve pork-chop dinners at 11 a.m. for $7 each. Dinners will include green beans, baked potatoes, sour cream, butter and bread.

Democrats rally set for Nov. 2
TELL CITY – The Perry County Democrats will host a Democrat rally at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Knights of Columbus.
The team of 2012 Democrat candidates will provide hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks. A cash bar will be available.
The public is invited to attend. There will be music and dancing and a chance to meet the candidates. Music will be provided by the Mystical Melody Kings band. Admission to the rally is free.

Santa Claus Optimists annual breakfast
SANTA CLAUS – The Santa Claus Optimist Club will host its annual pancake and sausage breakfast Nov. 3 at the Santa Claus Community Center.  
Serving will be from 6 to 9:30 a.m. The cost is $6 per adult and $4 for children under 12.
Tickets may be purchased in advance from an Optimist member or at the door.

Troy FD fall soup sale, Halloween party
TROY – The Troy Fire Department annual fall soup sale will be Nov. 4 at the Troy Firehouse.
Serving will begin at 11 a.m. Those purchasing soup by the gallon are asked to take their own containers.
The town’s annual Halloween party for children will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at the firehouse.
Games, treats, hayrides and more will be available.

DAR meeting set for Nov. 3
TELL CITY – The Daughters of the American Revolution will have a meeting open to the public at 1 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Perry County Public Library Tell City branch.
Hostess for the meeting will be Molly Hall and guest speaker will be Eddie Price, author of “Widder’s Landing,” a historical-fiction book about the War of 1812 in Hancock County, Ky.
Everyone is invited to attend.

Rome Masonic Lodge dinner
ROME – The Rome Lodge Free and Accepted Masons will hold a carry-in supper at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3.
All masons, families and friends are invited.
