PC football families meeting Tuesday
LEOPOLD – Perry Central football families will gather for a meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the high-school study-hall room.
Special Olympics bowling tournament Saturday
TELL CITY – The first Special Olympics County Bowling Tournament is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tell City Bowling Center.
There will be 28 bowlers competing, ranging from 13 to 62 years of age. County tournaments like these are being held throughout the state until Oct. 20 as qualifiers or eliminators for the respective area bowling tournaments.
The public is encouraged to attend to support local Special Olympic athletes.
AA group dinner meeting Saturday
TELL CITY – The Perry County Group AA will hold a dinner meeting Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 10th and Mozart streets in Tell City.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. A guest speaker will address the group at 7 p.m.
Those attending are asked to take a covered dish and a friend.
GOPerry Club breakfast Saturday
TELL CITY – The GOPerry Club will sponsor a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Ponderosa in Tell City.
Perry County Sheriff Lee Chestnut, Cannelton Police Chief Lee Hall and Tell City Police Chief Greg Hendershot will be the guest speakers. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The club will continue monthly presenters by local groups throughout the year, except in December.

VFW chicken dinners Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will sell grilled-chicken dinners at the post home Saturday in Tell City.
Meals will include half a chicken, creek fried potatoes and green beans.
Cost is $7.50 per plate and serving will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Horseman’s club euchre games continue Saturday
PERRY COUNTY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host its annual fall euchre games Saturday and continue the games Nov. 2, Nov. 16 and Nov. 30.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door and 25 cents per euchre game.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, coffee, sodas and water will be available. No smoking will be permitted in the building.

Arts, crafts bazaar Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars 2939 Ladies Auxiliary will host an arts and crafts vendors bazaar Saturday at 301 Main St., Tell City.
Tables may be reserved for $15 by calling Kim at 719-8255.
The public is invited to attend and see homemade, antique and new vendor items.
Euchre tourney in Fulda Saturday
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney at the club in Fulda Saturday.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the end of play and refreshments will be available. The public is invited to attend.
D of I to gather items for adoption center
TELL CITY – The Daughters of Isabella are again collecting baby items or slightly used clothing for St. Elizabeth-Coleman Adoption Center in Indianapolis.
This year, members are asking for baby clothing or items to be used for infants. They ask that gifts not be wrapped but have a price on each one. Boxes and baskets will be located at the three parishes – St. Paul, St. Michael and St. Pius – until Sunday. The items will then be taken to the center in Indianapolis.
Tractor association meeting Oct. 24
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Branchville clubhouse.

Twilight Towers Christmas bazaar Oct. 26
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will hold its annual Christmas bazaar Oct. 26 in the dining room starting at 6 a.m.
A biscuits-and-gravy breakfast will be served. A full order will be $2 and a half order will cost $1. Coffee, milk and orange juice will be 50 cents each. A bake sale will also be held during the bazaar. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Dinners in Leopold Park Oct. 27
LEOPOLD – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will sell chicken dinners beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Leopold Park.
St. Martin ham shoot Nov. 3
SIBERIA – St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia will host a ham shoot Nov. 3 on the church grounds beginning at 10 a.m.
Chili, cakes, a country store, pies, bingo and raffle will be available.
Halloween party in Troy set for Oct. 27
TROY – The annual Troy Fire Department Halloween Kids party will be Oct. 27 at the Troy Fire House.
Activities will start at 4 p.m. The event will include games, treats, hay rides, inflatables and fire safety information.
Fall soup sale in Troy
TROY – The Troy Fire Department’s annual fall soup sale is set for Nov. 3 at the Troy Fire House.
Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and those purchasing soup by the gallon are asked to take their own containers.
Cannelton Legion Auxiliary meetings
CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Auxiliary meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Legion post home.
All members are encouraged to attend and anyone interested in joining is welcome.
Books needed at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – The Twilight Towers Library is looking for some more large-print books, paperback or hardback, to add to the collection.
Gently used books would be much appreciated by the tenants.
Books can be dropped off at the Twilight Towers office, 1648 10th St., Tell City.
HIV testing offered at health department
PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Resource Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.

Oakwood’s day at the movies
TELL CITY – Oakwood and Care One Home Health host senior citizens days at the movies the third Wednesday of each month at Tell City Cinemas.
A free movie is shown with a choice of current films available, popcorn and a soft drink.
Doors open at noon and the movie begins at 1.
Santa Claus Legion poker games
SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus American Legion Post 242 conducts Texas Hold’em poker tourneys the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
Sign in is from 5 to 6 p.m. Play begins at 6:15 p.m.
Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month.
Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only two appointments per person per month are allowed.
Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.
Zumba at Schergens Center Mondays
TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students are admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are asked to wear athletic shoes, take water and a towel and to arrive a few minutes early to sign in. Elementary children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
