Bookmobile auction ends Saturday
TELL CITY – The Perry County Public Library-Tell City is offering for sale via online auction the former bookmobile, a Blue Bird bus built by Ohio Bus Sales in 1994. Classified ads detailing the vehicle can be found in the Oct. 11 and Oct. 18 issues of the News.

Covered Wagon to host Parmalee
CANNELTON – KLF Entertainment will present Parmalee in concert Friday at the Covered Wagon in Cannelton.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. They can be purchased at www.klfentertainment.com.
Opening acts will include Jaclyn Graves and Jeremy Luecke.
Cannelton schools to honor veterans
CANNELTON – Cannelton City Schools will host its annual Veterans Day Program Friday. The event will begin at 1 p.m. in the Cannelton Community Center. All veterans and their families are encouraged to attend.

Free straw for doghouses Saturday
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County’s Youth Group will hand out free straw for doghouses from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Orscheln Farm and Home Store in Tell City.

Youth Refuge events coming Saturday
CANNELTON – The Youth Refuge group will hold a free pancake breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the Cotton Mill Community Room for children in third grade and up. All local children are invited; you do not have to be a resident of the Cotton Mill to attend. Use the entrance on Adams Street.
The monthly meeting of the group will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Cotton Mill Community Room. The group is open to anyone in third grade and up. The meeting will include games and a snack.

Veterans Day dinner Sunday
CANNELTON – The Harry G. Myers Cannelton Post 142, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion members and spouses are invited to a Veterans’ Day dinner Sunday at the post home.
Social hour will be at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6. Meat will be provided and members are asked to take a dessert or a side dish.
St. Meinrad legion dinners Sunday
ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad American Legion will sell barbecued-chicken and pork-chop dinners Sunday. Dinners will be available after church at Village Hut in Fulda, St. Meinrad Church, St. Martin Church in Siberia and St. Meinrad American Legion home.
A maintenance and repair raffle will take place at l p.m. There will be an open house at the Legion post for everyone to attend.
Veterans Day celebration at Tell City school
TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host a celebration to honor local veterans at 8 a.m. Monday.
A free breakfast will be offered to all veterans. Parking will be available in the Fulton Street parking lot. Those attending are asked to RSVP by today by calling 547-3131.
Humane Society elections Tuesday
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold elections at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fifth Third Bank.

Springs to host card club
TELL CITY – The Springs will host a card club for bridge and euchre players at 2 p.m. Nov. 15.

United Pentecostal deer dinner
BRISTOW – The annual deer dinner at United Pentecostal Church, 20843 State Road 145 in Bristow, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 17.
The menu will include fried chicken, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, various vegetables, desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 years and under. The dinner is open to everyone.
St. John’s UCC Thanksgiving dinner
LAMAR – St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lamar will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner at 4 p.m. Nov. 17.
There will be ham and turkey dinners, St. John’s “famous dressing,” fall vegetables and salads, and home-baked desserts.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Anyone may dine in or carry out and all are welcome.
Pre-Thanksgiving dine-dance at Sportsman
FULDA – The annual pre-Thanksgiving Dine and Dance at the Fulda Sportsman Club will be held Nov. 21. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Dancing will be from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Operation Christmas Child collection times
TELL CITY – Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes will be collected at Tell City First Baptist Church, 802 13th Street, during the following hours: from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday – Nov. 16; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 17; 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18; 11 a.m. to noon Nov. 19.

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month.
Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only two appointments per person per month are allowed. Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.
Zumba classes at Perry Central
LEOPOLD – Zumba classes are held at Perry Central at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium each Monday.
Classes last for one hour and cost for is $5 every Monday. A portion of each month’s proceeds will be donated to a charitable cause.
Donations from October will go to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. Everyone is invited to participate.
Zumba at Schergens Center
TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students will be admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are asked to wear athletic shoes, take water and a towel and to arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
