Derby cemetery meeting Nov. 29
DERBY – An informational meeting for St. Mary’s Cemetery in Derby will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at Derby Tavern.
The group will discuss improvements and policies for the cemetery.

Deer hunters breakfast at Branchville lodge
BRANCHVILLE – The Branchville Masonic Lodge will hold breakfasts for deer hunters in November and December.
The breakfasts will be held from 5 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sunday, Nov. 24, Nov. 25, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.
The menu will include sausage gravy, biscuits, sausage and biscuits, ham and biscuits, eggs and omelets, coffee, orange juice and soft drinks.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

Sunday event at Church of Latter-Day Saints
TELL CITY – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day invite the community to a Sunday “Linger Longer” event at noon Sunday. The church is located on Dauby Lane in Tell City.

Tell City after-prom fundraiser Monday
TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School junior-student parents will hold a Schwan’s fundraiser for the after-prom.
The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of the school.

Holiday craft workshop at Patoka Lake
BIRDSEYE – Join in the spirit of the season during a holiday craft workshop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Patoka Lake Visitor Center. Those attending will be able to design and create holiday decorations, ornaments, angels, baskets, greeting cards and more for family and friends.
They will even use some of nature’s tools for creations.  
Craft kits are all priced around $1 to $3, with approximately 20 crafts to make. Participants must pre-register by calling the Patoka Lake Visitor Center at (812) 685-2447. Springs to host card club
TELL CITY – The Springs will host a card club for bridge and euchre players at 2 p.m. today.

United Pentecostal deer dinner
BRISTOW – The annual deer dinner at United Pentecostal Church, 20843 State Road 145 in Bristow, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The menu will include fried chicken, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, various vegetables, desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 years and under. The dinner is open to everyone.

St. John’s UCC Thanksgiving dinner
LAMAR – St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lamar will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner at 4 p.m. Saturday.
There will be ham and turkey dinners, St. John’s “famous dressing,” fall vegetables and salads, and home-baked desserts.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Anyone may dine in or carry out and all are welcome.

Pre-Thanksgiving dine-dance at Sportsman
FULDA – The annual pre-Thanksgiving Dine and Dance at the Fulda Sportsman Club will be held Wednesday. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Dancing will be from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Music will be provided by Crosswind. Admission is $15 per person and will include dinner and soft drinks.
The menu for dinner will be fried chicken, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, slaw and a desert. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Operation Christmas Child collection times

TELL CITY – Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes will be collected at Tell City First Baptist Church, 802 13th Street, during the following hours:
From 5 to 7 p.m. today and Friday
9 a.m. to noon Saturday
3 to 5 p.m. Sunday
11 a.m. to noon Monday

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month. Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only two appointments per person per month are allow-ed.
Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.

St. John UCC chili supper
CANNELTON – St. John United Church of Christ in Cannelton will have a chili supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24. Supper will be served prior to the Cannelton vs. Tell City boys’ basketball game hosted by Cannelton High School.
The meal includes a bowl of chili, crackers, drink and dessert. Children can get a meal at the same price.  Children’s meals will include a hotdog with bun, chips, drink and dessert.
All meal tickets are $4 if you purchase them before the dinner, but will be $5 at the door.
 Tickets can be purchased from any member of St. John UCC, by calling Kassi Harpenau at (812) 449-8284 or sending e-mail to stjohnchilisupper@gmail .com. If you need children’s tickets, you are asked to let the church member or Harpenau know when purchasing tickets.  St. John is located on the corner of Indiana 66 and Taylor Street.

Hoosier Days in Florida

SEBRING, Fla. – Indiana residents visiting Florida during the winter months are invited to the annual Hoosier Days Feb. 3 at Homer’s Buffet, on the corner of Highway 27 and Sebring Parkway across from Wal-Mart, in Sebring.
Sign in for the lunch will be at 11 a.m. and the meal will begin at noon.
