Tell City after-prom fundraiser Nov. 19
TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School junior-student parents will hold a Schwan’s fundraiser for the after-prom.
The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 19 in the parking lot of the school.

Events scheduled at Church of Latter-Day Saints
TELL CITY – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has two events coming up and invites the community to attend.
The Relief Society for Women will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner and Christmas candies and desserts. At noon Sunday, everyone is invited to a Sunday “Linger Longer” event.
The church is located on Dauby Lane in Tell City.

Parks and Rec board to meet Wednesday
CANNELTON – The Perry County Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the courthouse annex in Cannelton.
Youth Refuge events coming up
CANNELTON – The Youth Refuge group will conduct its monthly meeting of the group from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Cotton Mill Community Room.
The group is open to anyone in third grade and up. The meeting will include games and a snack.

Veterans Day celebration at Tell City school today

TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host a celebration to honor local veterans at 8 a.m. today.
A free breakfast will be offered to all veterans. Parking will be available in the Fulton Street parking lot.

Humane Society elections Tuesday
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold elections at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fifth Third Bank.
Because this meeting is for election of officers, only society members may attend. For more information, call 836-4842.

Springs to host card club Thursday
TELL CITY – The Springs will host a card club for bridge and euchre players at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Refreshments will be provided and there will be no entry fees to play.

United Pentecostal deer dinner Saturday

BRISTOW – The annual deer dinner at United Pentecostal Church, 20843 State Road 145 in Bristow, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The menu will include fried chicken, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, various vegetables, desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 years and under. The dinner is open to everyone.

St. John’s UCC Thanksgiving dinner
LAMAR – St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lamar will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner at 4 p.m. Saturday.
There will be ham and turkey dinners, St. John’s “famous dressing,” fall vegetables and salads, and home-baked desserts.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Anyone may dine in or carry out and all are welcome.

Pre-Thanksgiving dine-dance at Sportsman
FULDA – The annual pre-Thanksgiving Dine and Dance at the Fulda Sportsman Club will be held Nov. 21.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Dancing will be from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Music will be provided by Crosswind.
Admission is $15 per person and will include dinner and soft drinks. Tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, call (812) 357-5202.

Operation Christmas Child collection times
TELL CITY – Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes will be collected at Tell City First Baptist Church, 802 13th Street, during the following hours:
From 5 to 7 p.m. today through Friday
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday
9 a.m. to noon Saturday
3 to 5 p.m. Sunday
11 a.m. to noon Nov. 19

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public

TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the local area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month.
Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only two appointments per person per month are allowed.
Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.

St. John UCC chili supper Nov. 24
CANNELTON – St. John United Church of Christ in Cannelton will have a chili supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24.
Supper will be served prior to the Cannelton vs. Tell City boys basketball game hosted by Cannelton High School.
The meal includes a bowl of chili, crackers, drink and dessert. Children can get a meal at the same price.  Children’s meals will include a hotdog with bun, chips, drink and dessert.
All meal tickets are $4 if you purchase them before the dinner, but will be $5 at the door.
Tickets can be purchased from any member of St. John UCC, by calling Kassi Harpenau at (812) 449-8284 or sending e-mail to stjohnchilisupper@gmail.com.
If you need children’s tickets, you are asked to let the church member or Harpenau know when purchasing tickets.
St. John is located on the corner of Indiana 66 and Taylor Street.

Zumba classes at Perry Central

LEOPOLD – Zumba classes are held at Perry Central at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium each Monday.
Classes last one hour and cost for is $5 every Monday. A portion of each month’s proceeds will be donated to a charitable cause.
 Everyone is invited to participate.

Zumba at Schergens Center

TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students will be admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are ask-ed to wear athletic shoes, take water and a towel and to arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
