Mu Gamma to meet today

TELL CITY – Mu Gamma will meet at 6 p.m. today at the home of Carolyn Craddock. A Ritual of Jewel ceremony for Joan Krutz, George Ann Franchville and Lee Ann Riley, and the Laurete Ritual for Susie York will be held.
The membership committee will be in charge of the meeting.

Annual yard sale at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers, 1648 10th St., in Tell City will conduct its annual yard sale beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday in the dining room.
There also will be a bake sale and a biscuits and gravy breakfast. A full order of biscuits and gravy will be $2 and a half order will be $1. Coffee, orange juice and milk will be 50 cents each. Everyone is invited to attend.

Cannelton Legion cleanup day Saturday
CANNELTON – Cannelton American Legion Post 142 will have a cleanup day Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
All legion and auxiliary members are urged to assist.
Those attending to help are asked to take any cleaning supplies they can spare.

LHDC Relay yard sale Friday
TELL CITY – The Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Relay for Life team, Pirates of the Cureibbean, will host a fundraiser yard sale from 7 to 11 a.m. Friday. The sale will be at 321 Ninth St., in Tell City, rain or shine.

Geraniums for sale at local bank

TELL CITY – German American branches in Tell City is selling geraniums for Relay for Life through May 17.
Gallon-size plants are available for $6 and hanging full baskets are $22.

Mother-daughter-friend dinner Tuesday

TELL CITY – The Daughters of Isabella will host a mother-daughter-friend carry-in dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church.
The committee will furnish meat, drinks and desserts. Those attending are asked to take covered dishes.
Hostesses for the dinner will be Colleen Smith, Darlene Synder, Leona Schwartz, Carol Smith and Dorothy Steen.
Members who cannot attend are asked to call in their volunteer hours to Mary Seibert at 547-4847 or Donna Sweeney at 547-4794.

Cannelton Legion Auxiliary meeting
CANNELTON – The Cannelton Legion Post 142 Auxiliary will hold a monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the post home.
All members are urged to attend as they will develop their slate of officers for the upcoming year.
 
Craft, car show at Fulda Sportsman

FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a craft show and car show May 18 at the club.
This will be held in conjunction with the town-wide yard sale. The craft show will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Registration for the car show will be from 7 a.m. to noon with prizes awarded at 2 p.m. A kiddie tractor pull will begin at 10 a.m.
Food, including breakfast items and barbecued-chicken and pork-chop dinners, will be available throughout the day.

Team Alex benefit ride May 18
TELL CITY – Team Alex, a local team for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, will host a benefit ride May 18 beginning at Braunie’s Tavern in Tell City.
Sign in will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. All bikes will be out at 10 a.m. Cost is $10 per rider and $5 for passengers. Rain date for the event is May 19.

Benefit ride for family of Jayden Phillips
CANNELTON – A benefit ride for the family of Jayden Phillips will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Lawson’s Bar and Grill in Cannelton.
Registration will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with the ride starting at 11.
Stops along the route will be Millay’s Tavern, Panhead Fred’s Bar and Grill, Santa Claus Legion and Braunie’s Bar. Riders can then return to Lawson’s for entertainment provided by Boscoe France Band.

CPR class registration open

PERRY COUNTY – A CPR class will be held May 25, and registration is now open to anyone who wishes to participate.
These classes sponsored by American Red Cross will be at the Tell City branch of the Perry County Public Library.

Tell City schools spring concert
TELL CITY – The Tell City Spring Music Concert will begin at 4 p.m. May 19 at the high-school auditorium.
The chorus and sixth-grade, seventh- and eighth-grade and high-school bands will perform. The event will last no more than 11/2 hours. The community is invited and encouraged to attend to support the students.

Football families to meet May 20
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will meet at 6 p.m. May 20 in the high-school study hall room.

Novice ghost hunt in Cannelton

CANNELTON – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will host a novice hunt at the Perry County Museum in Cannelton from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. June 8.
Novice hunts are designed for individuals who are interested in paranormal activity but are not a part of an organized team. The group will have equipment for participants to use.
Cost is $50 per person and only six tickets will be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

HIV testing offered at health department

PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Resource Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.

German American Relay fundraisers under way

PERRY COUNTY – German American locations in Tell City are conducting annual sales of petunias and French Ridge candles to raise funds for Perry County Relay for Life.
Petunias are available for $5.50 each or two for $10. Candles are $6 each.

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month. Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Zumba at Schergens Center
TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students are admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are ask-ed to arrive a few minutes early to sign in. Elementary children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
